Spend an exciting evening shooting Fremantle's lights on a Focus 10 Night Photography Course. You will be learning about low-light and night photography techniques in which can equally be applied to shooting any any urban or outdoor area at dawn, dusk or long into the night.

Learn how to take photographs of the twilight and night sky, find out how to paint with light, to select the correct camera settings, shooting RAW, ISO, white balance, shutter speed and aperture settings. Learn about the best tripods, pre-location recce techniques, the best lenses, star bursting, composition, balancing ambient light with flash, zooming, light trails and more. This evening is also a fun, social occasion. A great way to make new friends.

What you will learn:

■ DSLR, mirrorless, and compact camera functionality

■ How to achieve outstanding results with your Smartphone ( with recommended Apps)

■ RAW, ISO, white balance, shutter speed, bracketing

■ Balancing available light and flash, rear & 2nd curtain sync

■ Mirror lock up, self timer and remote release

■ Zooming, light trails, motion, painting with light

■ Pre shoot recce skills, maximising locations, anticipating the moment

■ Reflections and abstract effects such as zooming & star bursts

■ Shooting city scapes, night portraits

■ How to shoot creative portraits at night

■ Creative night photography settings (expressionistic, art deco, B & W, colour accent etc)

Course requirements:

■ No previous photographic experience required

■ A smartphone, compact, mirror-less and/or a DSLR camera

■ An all rounder zoom such as a 18-55mm, 24-105mm most useful

■ Memory Card(s): we recommend at least a 4 GB card for each session of shooting

■ Charged camera battery and a spare if you have one

■ A wide-angle is useful for landscapes. A telephoto for wildlife

Time: 5pm to 7pm or 7pm to 9pm ( depending on the time of year)
